Aberdeenshire · 3 days · Base: Aberdeen

The Aberdeenshire group golf trip.

Groups wanting serious links golf without the East Lothian or Fife crowds. Base yourself in Aberdeen, play 3 courses over 3 days, and book the beds before the tee sheet — accommodation is what sells out first.

The rounds

3 courses from a Aberdeen base

  1. 1.Cruden Bay
  2. 2.Murcar Links
  3. 3.Royal Aberdeen (Balgownie)

£110–£265/round · Aberdeen — 15 min from city centre

Group booking note

Cruden Bay is often cited as the most underrated links in Scotland — the natural terrain and blind shots make it unlike anything else on the east coast. Book groups via the club directly. Murcar is equally serious and slightly easier to secure for visiting groups.

Where to stay

Base yourself in Aberdeen

Two ways to base this one. Aberdeen city gives you the full range of group hotels, an airport 15 minutes out and plenty of options for a group arriving and leaving by different routes — Royal Aberdeen and Murcar are both on the city's northern edge. For the immersive version, base in Cruden Bay itself (the Kilmarnock Arms and local self-catering) and wake up beside one of the great links; it's a 25-minute run back down to Murcar and Balgownie.

The Sunday Post

A good round, a fair fee, and a story from the clubhouse.

One email, most Sundays. No affiliate spam, no drip funnel, no nonsense. Just the tee time we'd book this week, the muni we'd play before work, and one piece of Scottish golf history worth the read.
