Royal Troon Championship requires a letter of introduction from your home club. Western Gailes and Prestwick are considerably more straightforward for group bookings — and both are serious golf. Budget the marquee round as a one-day treat; anchor the trip on the other three.

Base yourself in Troon
The Marine Troon overlooks the 18th of Royal Troon and is the obvious anchor — walkable to the championship links and a short drive to Prestwick, Western Gailes and Dundonald, all strung along the same few miles of coast. The Ayrshire coast towns (Troon, Prestwick, Ayr, Irvine) also have a good self-catering supply for groups who'd rather cook and split costs. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is ten minutes away, which makes this the easiest marquee-links trip in Scotland to reach by air.
