Group booking note
Castle Stuart and Old Petty share the Cabot Highlands estate ten minutes from the airport — the two marquee rounds, bookable together through the resort. Fortrose & Rosemarkie on the Black Isle is the historic contrast (golf played on the Chanonry Point peninsula since the 16th century) at a fraction of the price, and Inverness Golf Club is the easy in-town warm-up. This pairs naturally with the Dornoch trip — an hour further north — for a full Highland week.
Where to stay
Base yourself in Inverness
Inverness is the easiest Highland golf base there is: a genuine city's supply of hotels, serviced apartments and group self-catering, an airport 15 minutes out, and both Cabot Highlands courses ten minutes east along the A96. Groups wanting to wake up on the estate can take the lodges at Cabot Highlands itself. The city base wins on evenings — restaurants, pubs and live music within walking distance of each other — and keeps the Black Isle round at Fortrose to a 25-minute drive over the Kessock Bridge.
