Nairn is a proper seaside golf town — B&Bs, small hotels and self-catering within a short walk of the championship links, and Inverness only 20 minutes west if the group wants a bigger base. It's also the natural hinge for a longer Highland trip: pair it with the Dornoch itinerary (an hour up the coast) using Inverness or the Moray Firth as the hub, and you have a week of championship links with Speyside's distilleries in between.
